CNP Expo Founder & Founder of The Ahmad Butler Foundation

Latanya Morrison

Latanya Morrison has had several careers in her lifetime, but none have been as meaningful as her position as Executive Director of Forever Captain Poodaman! The Ahmad Butler Foundation.

Latanya vividly remembers rushing her grandson and ABF’s namesake, Ahmad “Captain Poodaman” Butler, to the hospital and thinking he might not make the car ride, as he was visibly losing his battle with cancer. Ahmad told his grandmother he was going to be a police officer when he grew up, and then asked her, with blood trickling down his nose, “Will I be a good one? And will I help a lot of people?” Although Latanya knew he would never reach adulthood, she told, “Yes, of course.” At that point, ABF went from a thought, to a promise, to her life’s purpose! Latanya founded ABF in January 2020 to support children battling life-threatening childhood diseases. She believes in the GOOD WORK of this Foundation as much as she believes in Ahmad and the AMAZING Superhero Kids we serve!

CNP Expo Executive Producer & Founder of LARA Marketing Group

Joseph Lara

Joseph Lara never originally set out to build a company centered around community impact. Like many executives, his focus was on growth, deadlines, and building a successful business — until a life-threatening medical crisis changed everything.

After enduring severe bowel disease, drug-resistant infections, months of daily infusions through a specialized port, and major surgery, Joseph founded LARA Marketing Group in 2024 with a new perspective on life and work.

Time spent in infusion rooms showed him that pain, fear, and uncertainty affect people from every background equally. Watching so many people fighting unimaginable battles along with him left a permanent impact and inspired a desire to connect his work to something larger than business alone.

That journey ultimately led him to the Coalition of Nonprofits and a partnership with Ahmad Butler Foundation founder Latanya Morrison. Together, they helped create the Coalition of Nonprofits Community Health & Help Expo.

Today, Joseph and LARA Marketing Group lead creative, planning, outreach, strategy, and production efforts surrounding the Coalition while continuing to focus on work that creates meaningful community impact.

“In a world where those in power make it clear they have no concern for the struggles of everyday people; the responsibility falls on us to be bold enough to step up and be the ones that care, and are willing to give our all to help. I know how isolating life can feel at its darkest moments, and If this expo helps connect even one person to the support or resources they need sooner, then our work matters.”
